About Me

My background & vision

Hi, I’m Jess!

I am 38 years old and was born & raised in Southern California. I love hiking with my dog, delicious food, and nature is my happiest place.

I have always felt a strong desire to help others since I can remember and am what some refer to as an empath. I feel it all, and I feel it deeply. I have come to learn that this trait is truly a blessing, not a curse! I have chosen to channel this soft, yet fiery gift as my superpower in order to show up fully in my purpose and help others to do the same.

I have been passionate about health and wellness for many years and left my career managing high-end hair salons in 2016 to move into holistic health. I began to truly understand the multifactorial causes of modern chronic disease and on many occasions watched them be reversed naturally. I worked in a clinical setting under a Nutrition Response Therapy practitioner, naturopathic doctors, acupuncturists, nutritionists, and more. Mainstream medicine teaches us that many chronic conditions cannot be reversed or alleviated without medication, but when you witness healing with your own eyes in patient after patient, it becomes impossible to dismiss that this is a reality for some.

I became drawn to functional medicine immediately once it came across my radar. Finally, an evidence-based field that recognizes what conventional medicine does well, and where it is in need of a paradigm shift. I believe that the future of medicine involves getting to the root cause of disease (rather than suppressing symptoms with “band-aids”), prevention of disease, treating each patient as an individual (rather than the “one size fits all” approach), and providing a high level of touch along the way—& that’s where health coaches come in!

NERD ALERT

  • Health subject I’m most likely to nerd-out about: the gut microbiome!

  • Non health related subject I’m most likely to nerd-out about: regenerative land management!

  • Ask me how these two things are inherently connected!
